What we do
In this section our routine tests are described briefly, however, we're not limited to only performing those test.
Please contact us if you have a specific project planned, even if it's not listed below.
Massive Parallel Sequencing
For all species having a DNA based genome (not suitable for eg RNA virusses), whole genome sequencing can be offered.
For a select number of organisms (human, mouse, dog, pig, soy, wheat, barley, maize and switchgrass) we can offer Whole Exome Sequencing. Currently, only human exome sequencing is performed routinely.
Numerous human disease based gene panels are being offered, which can be requested through the centres for medical genetics at either UZ Brussel or Hopital Erasme. New gene panels (also for other species than homo sapiens) can be compiled upon request.
NIPT can be requested through the centres for medical genetics at either UZ Brussel or Hopital Erasme. The NIPT test is based on shotgun massive parallel sequencing (sMPS) and can be offered starting from 11 weeks of pregnancy.
RNA expression profiles and splice variation can be easily established for a large (limited/targeted) set of RNA transcripts.
